OLLIVIER MAY NOT DEFEND HIS TITLE.

The holder of the Doni inion La wn Tennis Championship. Geoffrey Ollivier. has stated that he does not intend at present to defend the title at Auckland this year. He has declined Don France’s request to partner him in the doubles. The expenses are very solid. Ollivier states. “The only solution is that if Canterbury challenges for the Wilding Shield, thou «e will (ret n certain amount of expenses, I believe that Auckland is keen on Canterbury challenging. I'm not satisfied with having the Wilding Shield matches after the championships,” lie added. “If they are played before I will consider going.”
New Zealand's official Tennis Ball for 20 rears has been Ayres’ “Championship” Ball. Made in Britain by British labour and British capital Perfect in flight and bounce.—Advt.
