Christchurch, November 22. Frederick Richard Close, who stole <S(i 7s. (id. from Lily Lister, and <L’2l Ills. Horn Elizabeth Grace Moore has a bud record and Mr. Justice Stringer to-day sentenced hi into two years' impi'isouluerit saying: “Next time you come up you may be declared an habitual criminal. You are qualifying for it.” Close was convicted of breaking ami entering and theft in 4916, and was then ordered to come up for sentence when called upon. Later ho was convicted on four charges of theft and was sentenced to three years’ reformative treatment. Last year he was again sentenced to reformative treatment.
