SHARK IN BATHS
CONSTERNATION AMONG SWIMMERS.
Dominion Special.
Auckland, November 22. Tbe appearance of a shark’s fin cutting through the still waters of the Parnell baths at about 6.30 tins morning created great excitement and no little consternation among the swimmers. The find was first seen by one of the bathers who was about to go into the water, and when the alarm was given the bathers in the water made record time for the shore. Inc caretaker (W. Fay) armed himself with a solid piece of iron, and when the shark approached one of the sides he made several slashes at it. These apparently stunned it, for shortly afterwards it disappeared and was not seen again all day. This evening the baths were drained out. and early in the morning the caretaker will look for the fish.
