SLEPT IN A CHURCH
WENT IN BECAUSE HE WAS DRUNK Dominion Special. Auckland, November 22. Feeling tired, Peter Harigan aged 53, nought rest in the Baptist Church, at Hamilton, on Saturday night. Last night he slept in a, police cell for a change, and to-day was called upon to answer a charge of being unlawfully on premises. The police stated that Harigan had gained an entrance through the back window. His excuse was that he was drunk and had been three weeks on the road. The Magistrate: "You were one day Accused: "I would never have gone there had I not been drunk.” (Laughter). Accused was sentenced to fourteen days’ imprisonment.
