There was a large attendance Rt the annual meeting of the Kelburn-North-land Branch of the Women’s National Reserve on Tuesday afternoon, which was held at the residence of the president, Mrs. Hargreaves. Mrs. Parkinson (secretary) read the annual report and balance-sheet, which were most gratifying. the sum of £ll having been raised for the year. Mis. Hargreaves resigned her office as president, but the committee refused to accept it, and upon the election of vice-presidents, and a strong committee, who all promised to help to their utmost, Mrs. Hargreaves consented to take office again. 'I he decision was received with prolonged applause. Mrs. Parkinson was re-elected secretary, appreciation of her services being expressed by several speakers. Ibe folfollowing committee was elected: —Mt'sdames Mullingan, Brown. Morris, Dryden, and Miss McDonald, with Mesdames Platt, Salt, Grant, and Preston ns vice-presidents. The president outlined the work which the branch hopes to accomplish next year. New members were enrolled, and great interest was expressed in the various activities of the reserve. A daintv tea was dispensed by Mrs. and Miss Hargreaves, and was much enjoyed bv all present. Mrs. F. J. Earle was presented with a pot pourrl jar bv the president, on behalf of the committee, who conveyed to her the best wishes of all, and the hope that she would be very hapnv in Nelson. Mrs. Earle feelingly replied.
