WANGANUI NOTES

Dominion Special. Wanganui, November 19. Yesterday the Wanganui branch of the Victoria League held a successful social. Mrs. D. Mason presided over a large attendance ot members and their friends. A feature of the gathering was an address by the Rev. C. F. Pierce. A musical programme was contributed by members and friends of the. league. The proficiency examination in country schools will take place on Tuesday, November 30, and will be held under the supervision of the head teacher. The examination in city schools will be held later under the supervision of inspectors. The Wanganui branch of the Farmers’ Union has arranged for the chairman of the New Zealand Meat Board (Mr. D. Jones) to address local farmers and meat producers in Wanganui on December 1. Mr R S. Forsythe, London manager of the Meat Board, will also address the gathering.
