WELLINGTON COLLEGE BEAT H.M.S. DIOMEDE.
On Wednesday afternoon a team from H.M.S. Diomede played a match against the Wellington College eleven The naval team was captained by Berg.-Ooiu.. Macintosh, au old-boy of the school. During the afternoon both the teams were entertained at afternoon tea. Wellington College batted first, and at the tea adjoiirnment bad compiled 141 ruus for the loss of five wickets, when they declared. Au exciting finish was provided, the sailors falling only seven runs short of the required total. For Wellington College Osborn made 20 rune, Pethrick 34, Tipping 27. Turner 10 (not out), and Gifford 33 (not out), and for H.M.S. Diomede Shaw made 29, Everett 17 Rowley 29, Jones 12 (not out), and Rivers (15 not cut,), were the double-figure scorers. Bowling for College. Smith took two wickets for tl runs, and for the Diomede Osborn took four for 46. Caldwell two for 21. and McDonald three for 37. 'JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP TABLES.
