1 — RECENT AUTHORISATIONS. Recent loan authorisations of local interest are as follow: —Hastings Borough Council (for surfacing streets and constructing footpaths), £35,600; for purchasing electrical appliances, £13,500; for piping certain open drains, £6600; and for sewerage and water works, £3350, all at 6 per cent. Masterton County Council (for providing a worker’s dwelling), £1000; Wairarapa Electrie Power Board (for electric works in the Ponatahi special rating area), £3300; and for electric works in the Ahiaruhe special rating area, £750, each 6 per cent. The interest to be charged in connection with the following authorisations is not to exceed 6 per cent.: —Waipawa County Council, £15,000, for main highways construction; Woodville County Council, £l7OO, for purchase and construction of plant, etc.; Woodville County Council, £2OOO, for the construction and tar-sealing of main roads.
