FREEZERS’ DISPUTE
PERMANENT MEN ORDERED OUT B? Telegraph.-PRESS ASSOCIA'JIOL Feildiug, November 18. The permanent men employed at the Feilding freezing works were ordered by the union this morning to cease work, and did so. These men were preparing for the opening of the season. PALMERSTON MEN SUPPORT DEMANDS. Dominion Special. Palmerston North, November 18. A meeting last evening of the local branch of the Freezing Workers’ Union carried a resolution supporting the Hawke’s Bay men in their demands. It is stated that only 78 voted on the issue, and the majority in favour of the motir was only two. A number of men Lom outside districts were present at the meeting, aiid a large proportion of u-'jrists were not in favour of following the lead of Hawke’s Bay on account of a desire to make sufficient money to tide them over the Christmas period. The Longbttrn freezing works will re--pen on Tuesday, but whether with union or free labour is not known.
