PHOTOGRAPHY
AWARDS AT DUNEDIN SOCIETY’S EXHIBITION. The Otago Art Society, now incorporated with the Dunedin Public Art Gallery Society, has for many years granted space at their annual exhibition (or a display of pictorial photographs. During the past twenty-five years none of the recognised arts has made such rapid and satisfying progress as pictorial photography, and the Art Society in granting space, and the Dunedin Photographic Society, under whose direction the exhibition is held, are deserving of much, praise for their progressive policy. The exhibition is open to all photographers, professional and amateur, and is the. only one of its kind held in the Dominion. This year prints were sent from various parts of the Dominion and entered into competition for the awards Riven by the Dunedin Photographic Society. Air. A. H. O’Keeffe, who judged the prints, has made the following awards:— . First-class certificates: Miss Una Garlick, Auckland (2) ; Miss E. B. Jeans, Messrs. W. B. Seymour, G. Chance, F.R.P.S., and T. A. Dawson, Dunedin. Second-class certificates: Miss Lna Garlick, Auckland; Messrs. C. Chance; F.RP.S. (2), P. Beck, W. B. Seymour, Dunedin; Otto Loll, Port. Chalmers. ~ Third-class certificates: Messrs. RoU Keys, Napier; G. Chance, F.R.P.S., C. A. Weedon (2), Rev. H. 0., Fenton, F.R.P.S. (2), Dunedin Hon. mention: Messrs. J. C. Holland, Auckland; and C. A. Weedon, Dunedin. The highest award, the bronze plaque for best picture exhibited, was won by Miss Una Garlick, Auckland.
