MONEY OBTAINED BY FRAUD
“COMPARATIVELY MODERATE SENTENCE.” ■Dominion Special. Christchurch, November 17. Tn sentencing Joseph Andrew Barron, who had fraudulently obtained sums amounting to LU lie. Sd., to twelve months’ imprisonment, Mr. Justice Stringer said that prisoner had broken the terms of his probation, and had been convicted of theft in 1914, 1917, and 1920, being sentenced te three years’ reformative treatment on the last ccca ; sion. A comparatively moderate sentence would be imposed in view of the fact that, he had lived honestly for the past five years at least.
