CARNIVAL AND TUG-OF WAR

Great interest is being taken in the carnival and tug-of-war which is running at St. Francis Hall. After an exciting contest last evening, Collins s team overcame O’Connell’s team by 18 inches, and Quirk’s team proved too good for Dear’s team, winning by nearly a foot. Other attractions each evening are dancing displays, spectacular military manoeuvres arranged by Mr. Joe Knowsley. To-night Tagney’s team will meet Sennett’s team in the tug-of-war, and Munt-Cottrell’s team will meet O’Grady’s team. .
