ANDERSON TURNING PROFESSIONAL (Rec. November 17', 8.30 p.m.) _ Sydney, November 17. The lawn tennis player J. O. Anderson announces that after the end of this year lie is turning professional, as he feels he cannot longer give time to play abroad and it is his duty to devote time to encouraging and- helping the younger generation of Australian tennis players. ■ The -Wellington Lawn Tennis Assotion has officially adopted Ayres’ “Championship” Tennis Balls this season, and they will be used solely, at the Wellington ' provincial championship meeting in January.
