Messrs. Horace Baker Ltd., auctioneers, are offering a large catalogue or properties to-morrow at 2.30 p.m. in the Dominion Farmers’ Institute t heatherston Street. A section in Majoribanks Street with a cottage containin'* three looms and :i kitchenette completes the lists The Secretary, General Post Office, advises that, commencing November 5, the charges for long distance telephone toll communications will be reduced, and the special half-rate concession will take effect from 8 p.m. instead of 'J p.m., as at present There wl'l be no reduction on calls over distances not exceeding 150 miles. For calls over distances exceeding 150 miles, the charge will be the same as at present up 'to the 150 mile point, and beyond that point the charge will be reduced from 2d to Id for every 10 miles be tween 8 a.in. and 8 p.m., and from Id to |d. between 8 p.m. and 8 a tn. The Department hopes that the reductions will stimulate the use of the long-dis tance toll lines.
