AUTOMATIC TELEPHONES

DUNEDIN INSTALLATION

Dominion Special.

Dunedin, November 15

A start has been made by the district telegraph engineer’s staff to install the automatic telephones in business houses and residences throughout Dunedin and suburbs. The job will take some time. The automatic and the manual machines will both be in position for a while until the cut-over is announced. It is anticipated that the three automatic exchanges, Dowling Street, South Dunedin, and Roslyn, will be ready by the end of March next.
