The Minister of Lands (Hon. A. D. McLeod), accompanied by Mrs. McLeod will leave to-dav for Auckland. While in Auckland the Minister will attend the land settlement conference at which the. Under-Secretary of Lands (Mr. J. B Thompson) will also be present. '■ Mr: McLeod expects to return to 'Wellington bn Saturday' next. ' • Professor W. Hewitson, recently resigned from the staff of Knox College, left by the Maheno for Melbourne on Saturday. The Rev. Father Hurley, oi Tiinaru, formerly of St. Joseph’s, Buckle Street, Wellington, left by the Maunganui to take charge of St. Patrick’s Parish, Sydney. hr. Reakes, the Director of Agriculture, arrived in Wellington from the south bn Saturday morning. :
