CHRISTMAS GIFTS FOR . LEPERS
The annual appeal for contributions for the patients' Christmas fuud is now being made by the medical superintendent of the Makogai leper station. In the past the , people of the Dominion have readilv responded to this call,.ana it is expected that a similar measure of geuerositv will be shown this year. The office of the Minister of the Cook Islands, Wellington, will be pleased to receive any contributions and undertakes to forward them to the island authorities. So far as gifts other than money are concerned, the last.opportunity for dispatch from New Zealand to reach the leper station before Christmas will be by the Tofua, which is to leave Auckland on Saturday, December •I. These Christmas gifts will be car- , ried free ... by courtesy of the Union Steam Ship Company.
