AFTER FIGHTING FINS

FIRST OF THE BIG FISHERMEN “Your big game fishing is worth coming a long way for,” said Mr. H. WhiteWickham, an American, residing in England, who arrived by the Tainui last night. “I was -out here before in 1921 and 1922,” he went on. “This time I plan to start early, and get in ahead.” Mr. White-Wickham added that the largest swordfish he got on his previous trips was 3471 b. This season he hoped to be able to beat the record catch obtained by Captain Mitchell, of the Zane Grey party, last year. Mr. White-Wickham’s mako shark record, which had stood since 1922, was beaten last year by Mr. Andreas (Australia), who landed a 550 pounder.
