Combined Doubles.—Mrs. Kell and M»Donald (5) beat Mr. and Mrs. Carter (5). 60-52. „ . ~ , Ladies’ Doubles.—Miss Halselden and Miss Brookes (20) beat Mrs Carter and Miss Shenna rd (scr.). 50 —30The final of the Wellington Last Girls’ College championship was won by Miss Doris Howe, who bent Miss Nessie Bell. 7-5. 6—l. In the first set Miss Howe led s—l by dint of steady plnv, in which she kept Miss Bell constant Ivon the move. Miss Bell drew level at 5 all by n brilliant burst of hard driving in which there was hardly a falter. Miss Howe's steadiness nnd placing again asserted itself, and she took the set 7—5. Having staked everything on winning the first set after her great pull up. Miss Bell’s drives became too inaccurate to allow her to win more than one game in the second set.
