The quarterly meeting of the Public Service Superannuation Board was hold on Thursday, Mr. J. W Macdonald presiding. Twenty-seven contributors retirrd under Section 35 of the Act by reason of age nr length of service, were granted allowances of a total of £6041 per annum, and four contributors, retired as medic-ally unfit, were granted allowances totalling’ £lo4,per annum. In two eases consideration was deferred pending further medical reports. A contributor belonging to Iho Police Ton e, who was permanently disabled whilst in the execution of his duty, was granted an additional allowance at the rate of XlOO per annum under a special provision of the Act. Ten widows and eight children were granted the statutory allowances amounting to £5lB per annum. In consequence of retirements under section 35 of the Act. accrued compensation to the amount of £2360 became a liability of the Superannuation Fund. and a corresponding relief Io the Consolidated Fund.
