The Archbishop of Malines a performed the ceremony, which, owing to Princess • Astrid not -being .a Catholic,, .was curtailed, the Mass and Nuptial Benediction being omitted. Her dress was different from that worn at Stockholm, being •.»• magnificent, gown of white satin brocade..- on- which were worked flenrs de lys, with a veil of Brussels lace, a.garland of myrtle and , bouquet of orange blossoms. Ihe bride’s train was over ten yards long, and carried by four pages, dressed in white satin. * • The Princess made a beautiful pic-, ture. She was pale at first, and obviously feeling the ordeal, but she left the cathedral looking radiantly happy. The authorities at the. Roval Palace decline to disclose' where the honeymoon is being spent, but it is believed the couple are not far from. Brussels, and are going, later to Paris and Marseilles, en route to Cairo. It is stated that Princess Astrid is not yet a fluent speaker of French, therefore the couple always speak in I'.nglish.
