BUILDING ALIGNMENT ORDER . Nearly two years’ ago the City Council discussed a big scheme for the widening of Thomdon Quay, as the main arterial entrance to and exit from ill city. A proclamation was made by the council that all new buildings erected north-most of Davis Street were to be set back 14 feet from the existing buildin- alignment. . A further step in the direction, of widening this thoroughfare was decided upon by the council last evening, when th., following recommendation of the finance committee was agreed to: “That all new buildings to be erected on the western side of Thomdon Quay between Lambton Quay and Davis Street be set back 14 feet from the present street alignment in order that this portion of the street may ultimately be widened by this extent.”
