WELLINGTON STOCK EXCHANGE YESTERDAY’S BUSINESS AND PRICES At the morning call yesterday a gale of bank of New Zealand Kights at 6s. 6d. was made on ’Change, and at the afternoon call sales were reported of Bank of New Zealand Rights at 6s. sd„ and Kawarau Mining shares at 2s. 9<J. Government stocks and bonds wore steady. There were buyers of the 5 per cents at £99, and the 5J per cents at £lOO 10s. Wellington Racing Club debentures were firm at £10(5, and N.Z. Breweries, 10 per cent, bonds, at 245. id. Bank shares were very firm. There were buyers of National Bdnk shares at £6 19s, Cd., Bank of New Zealand at 60s 3d., Bank of Now Zealand Rights at 65.. sd, ant| Union Bank at £l5 ss. 6d. Tho annual nieeiing of shareholders ol the Mui’chisoui Oil' Company, Limited, was held to-day. The chairman of directors (Mr. H. J, D. Robertson) presided over a small attendance. Mr. Robertson said the plant was giving every satisfaction, and would, no doubt, do the work required. According to the latest advice tho bore had reached a depth of 1484 feet. They had been fortunate in that only minor accidents had occurred, the most serious being the sinking of a casing which bad occt;rfed during the past fortnight. An ad<|itional 160 acres had been acquired in the Blackwater area, and the com panv now ha<l boring rights over 22,999 acres. Extracts were read from a lengthy report made bv Mr, Spehcef, in which he stated that, while it could not be said that oil in commerHal quantities existed before the drilling was done, it could be said thnt all the conditions were present which would warrant thnt assumption. Dalgety and Company Limited report—At our monthly sale of rabbit and opossum skins held yesterday, we offered a fair catalogue of all clasps to a good attendance of buyers. Competition was fairly keen, and considering the lateness of the season the skins brought forward were in excellent condition. Prices generally were lower than the October sale, but fully up to the rates ruling at other sales. The opossums we offered were only medium sorts, but were keenly sought after at prices well Up to late rates.
