WANGANUI SHOW SUCCESSFUL SECOND DAY Dominion Special. Wanganui, November 11. The Wanganui Agricultural Association concluded its 52nd annual show to-day, when there was a -largo attendance for "Peoples' Day". Although the weather did not look at all promising the rain Held off and lowering clouds did not deter a large crowd from seeing the show, while a halfholiday, observed by the majority of business houses in Wanganui, gave city-folk an opportunity to attend the gathering. The chief attraction m the afternoon was the grand parade, when, for the inspection of those present, the prize-winners from the various stock sections were driven or led around the ring, the fine animals displayed showing that quality had been the dominant feature of the show. The equestrian events were also worth seeing, some excellent horsemanship being provided The trade section, with its miscellaneous exhibits, comprising aoto- ’ mobiles, tractors, agricultural. Imp ements. and all sorts of mechanical ni< Is to industry and comfort, attracten their share of attention, while around the side-shows others found ample to interest them. CHAMPIONSHIP AWARDS. The horse events created much interest There were some very fine trade turnouts, the draught horses showing up prominently. The children s ponies made a good display, some of them being very clever. DAIRY PRODUCE MARKET The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited have received the following cablegram from their London house under date Nov. 10:Butter.—New Zealand choicest stored, 140 s. to 1425. per cwt. The N.Z. Farmers’ Co-op. Diet. Co., Ltd., report:—We held our second cattle fait on November 9 when we yarded 900 bead of cattle and 800 sheep, which were offered to a good attendance. A good percentage of the stock went to Manawatu and Wellington buyers. Prices were not up to the first sale, but nevertheless we sold the bulk of the entry. Again Mr. C. Palliser's yearling steers topped the market, making £A 195., and Mr- A. Geddis topped the price with store bullocks at =£lo 16s. Prices were: Sheep.—-Ewes and lambs, all counted, 13s. 3d. to 15s. 6d-i fat phorn ewes, 155.; do. wetljers, 2ls. 6d. to 225.; fat woolly hoggets, 275. to 27s 2d.; aged woolly ewes, Ils.
