VISIT TO AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND NOT ONLY PRACTICE DEMONSTRATION BUT SINCERE EXTENSION OF GOODWILL Admiral Coontz, after referring to the pleasure with which he was looking forward to his visit to Australia and New Zealand with the American Fleet, said the cruise was not only a practice demonstration, but a sincere extension of the good-will and recognition of the mutual aspirations and ideals of two great peoples bordering the Pacific. Admiral Coontz, in att interview, said it was impossible to exaggerate the pleasure with which he was looking forward tn his visit to Australia and New Zealand with the American fleets “On mv last visit in 1906 with the fleet which President Roosevelt sent around the world I was then executive officer on board the Nebraska. I have many delightful memories of that visit, and am not only glad personally of the opportunity to renew associations and revive memories of the glorious British Dominions, but am eager to have the officers and men of the navy have the experience of a visit to Australia and New Zealand. It will be the first visit for most of them “The cruise is not only a practice demonstration,” continued Admiral Coontz, "but a very sincere extension of the good-will and recognition of mutual aspirations and ideals of two great peoples bordering the Pacific. I will visit Melbourne and Wellington, and Admiral Robinson will visit Sydney and Auckland. The battleships Pennsylvania, Oklahoma and Nevada will accompany my flagship.
