A LA’ALL BAY COAIPLAINT. ’ The monthly meeting of the executive of the AA'ellington Automobile Club was held yesterday Air. B. C. Cull, lion, secretary of the Lyall Bay Progressive Association, wrote stating that be had been requested by his association to bring before the notice of the club the excessive speed of some motors (ravelling through the Lyall Bay district, more especially in Coutts Street, Queen's Drive, and Onepu Road. “Aly association,” wrote Air. Cull, “will be glad if you would take steps to, stop this nuisance, and perhaps prevent some unforeseen accident.” It was decided to refer the letter to the police. Alessrs. AV. 11. Short and 11. Filmer Were added to the committee. On the motion of Air. Goldberg, »t was decided to compile a list ol improvements which the City Council had failed to carry out in past years, and submit them to the new council, in the hope that they’ might now be executed. The following proposal, brought forward by Mr. A. N. Field, was also carried :—“That in view of the proposed amendment of the Highways Act this year, this club is of the opinion that the amendment should include (1) that the motor taxpayers have equal representation on the Highway Board with the local bodies; (2,i that the Highways Board is given power to compel local bodies to bring main highways up to the standard required by the board.”
