CONCLUDING SERVICE. A mission, which for the past night has been conducted in St. Mary of the' Angels’ Homan Catholic Church, Boulcott Street, was concluded last night In the presence of a congregation numbering 18(10. Hundreds of others were unable to gain admittance' to the church. The niispioners wore selected tor their Ability to expound ihe doctrines of the church with the greatest lucidity and telling effect. The attendances were phenomejial throughout, ranging h lO , 11 } 10(10 to 1800. Tim subject for last night was the Diinity of the Catholic Church, when for over an hour Rev. Father McCarthy held the congregation as lie developed, his theme. On the conclusion of his address an impressive ceremony was performed, members <fl lhe congregation standing .with lighted .■.audios in their hands and swearing allogiance to Christ, alter the Vanal blessing was imparled. .Assisting Father McCarthy wire Rev. Father Kane. Rev. Father joyce. 'and Rev. Father ITcfer,ian. The niissioners are proceeding jo Palmerston North on Tuesday to begin a series of missions in tho Mamiwatu district.
