The. Alinister of Railways (Hon. J. G. Coates) returned yesterday frqni Southland. The Alinister of Alines 'flloti. G. J. Anderson) also returned from the same district. The Alinister of Lands (Hon. .A. D. AlcLcodj has been confined to his residence for the past few days through indisposition. Archbishop A. W. Averill will leave for Suva by the Aorangi on May 12. He will remain onlv about a week in Fiii, returning bv the Niagara, which will leave Suva about Alay 22.

Archbishop F. Redwood attended the celebrations of the silver jubilee of the Holv Cross College, Alosgiel, yesterday. Others present were Archbishop T. O’Shea, Bishops AT. J. ( Brodic, H. W. Clenrv, and J. AT. Liston. Mr. James R. Lockie, of .Wellington, law clerk, was admitted as a barrister and solicitor on Saturday by His Honour Air. Justice MacGregor, on the application of Mr. J. O'She*.
