Napier, December 27. Napier’s Christmas attraction, the , mardi gras carnival, proved a. brilliant' success, bringing in large numbeis of -. visitors from surrounding districts and. far afield. The procession consisted of ■ a. blight array of industrial, decorative,' and humorous exhibits, eclipsing all pre-. vious efforts. Other attractions included an amateur boxing tournament, tug-of-war, cricket matches, ladies’ football match by teams from Wellington, and open-air enterto-<ments. Save for a, shower of sihort duration on Monday,, ideal summer weather prevailed.
