At the West Australian Turf Club’s fixture on December 3, Mr.. S. P. Mackay’s Killiecrankie, by Kilbroney—Flowery Speech, won the Nursery Handicap, of five furlongs. Killiecrankie was bred by Mr. E. E. D. Clarke, the well-known Australian owner and breeder, who purchased his dam, Flowery Speech at Air. J. B. Reid’s Elderslie Stud dispersal sale for 800 guineas. As a yearling Killiecrankie cost his present owner 400 guineas. The Bezonian gelding Canzonet, who has not raced since last season, is expected to appear under silk in West Australia. Some difficulty has been experienced in getting the Avondale Stakes winner, Lady Lois, wound up, as she had the misfortune to strike an off-leg. At present she looks very well, and should pick up a stake during the holiday meetings. TROTTING ASHBURTON ACCEPTANCES. Bv Telegraph-Press Association. Ashburton, December 20.
