SIR EDGAR SPEYER’S NATURALISATION CERTIFICATE REVOKED By Telegraph—Pres! Aanocißilnn— Copyright (Rec. December 14, 9.40 p.m.) London, December 13. The London Gazette states: r ‘S!r Edgar Speyer had shown himself by act and speech to bo disaffected and disloyal to His Majesty during the war. He unlawfully communicated with tho subjects of tho enemy State, and therefore the certificate of naturalisation has been revoked. Speyer, his wife, and two daughters shall cease to 'be British subjects. Speyer has also been struck out of the Privy Council. This finding involved no reflection on any partner of Speyer Brothers, London, except Edgar Speyer. — Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. JSir Edgar Speyer was created a. Baronet in 1906, and was made a Privy Councillor in 1909. He was born in 1862, and in 1884 became a partner in his ’father’s three firms—Speyer Bros , London Speyer and Co., New York, and L. Speyer-EUissen, Frankfort-on-Main-and was resident partner in the Irank-• fort firm till 1887, when ho took direction of the London house. He retired from the New York and Frankfort firms on the outbreak of war in 1914. In !■■ ■ he offered to resign his honours, and then went to America, where he Jias inc” resided.
