They were all proud of it. The year’s report, read by Miss Hayden, covered many activities of the college. There were 109 scholars on the roll, of whom 49 were boarders, and during the year they had carried out their work with diligence and conscientiousness. Exhibits of pupils had been sent to the Palmerston North Show. Tho progress that had been made in drrZ-smak-ing, cooking, music, elocution, painting, enamelling, leatherwork, drawing, etc., was given in detail, and Miss Haydon stated that very special attention was paid to music—piano, violin, and singing. The pupils had been examined in music by Mr. Gordon Short, and thanks were due to him for the help he had given. It had been decided to appoint a musical director for the whole of the school, so that a general unity of aim might be secured, and Mr. Kelly had been appointed to this position. The Rev. D. T.
