FRENCH CLUB
The annual business meeting of the Circle Litteraire Francais took place on Friday. There was a good attendance of members. The balance-sheet showed that the club had made considerable progress during the year, and had a credit balance to start next year’s work with. In recognition of the services rendered during the last five or six years by Madam.- Dcchanet Mackintosh, the retiring secretary, who has asked to be relieved of what have been arduous duties (mostly so during the years of war), the committee proposed that she be elected a life member. This was agreed to by acclamation, many members expressing their appreciation of the vary good work Madame Mackintosh had done for the benefit of tho members and of the club. The following were elected officers for the year 1922:—Patron, Mr. .Tohn Hutcheson; president, Mr. L. J. du Flon; vice-presidents. Mr. E. S. Baldwin and Mr. A. Spencer; secretaries, Mr. Mathieson and Miss Smythson; treasurer, Miss C. Mead; librarian. Mir. Palmer; committee, Madame Benge, Mrs. Johnston. Mrs. R. O. 'Whyte. Miss Logan, Miss D. Drury, General Tnrbayetl. Mr. Edmundson, and Mr. B. IV. White.
