BROKERS AND BUYERS SEEK A WAY OUT HOPES FOR SPEEDY SETTLEMENT A conference between representatives of brokers and buyers was held during the week end with the object of seeking a settlement of the dispute concerning "prompt” payment for wool purchases, which has been responsible for the postponement of all wool sales in the Dominion. A prominent wool broker informed a Dominion reporter on Saturday afternoon that the parties had gone very fully into the question, and there was good ground to hope that a satisfactory agreement would be reached shortly, which would enable the December series of wool sales to be proceeded with.
