■ Mr. F. IT. Gifford, who is in charge of the combined offices of the Union Coiiipany and the New Zealand Unp ping Company at Bluff (remarks the "Lvttelton .Times”), has , received notification of hie transfer to- Wellington, to take up duties in the head, office of the New Zealand Shipping Company.

Mr. Samuel Turner, the well-known mountain climber, of Wadestown, accompanied by his daughter, Miss Muriel Turner, will leave Wellington to-day by the Tainur for London..Mr. C. E. Bridge, of the local staff of the A.M.P. Society, who has been away from Wellington for the past three months on relieving duty, has returned to town.

Mr. Scott Colville arrived yesterday to conduct the tour for J and ,N.. Tait of Dame Clara Butt, whose New Zealand tour .will commence here early next month.
