MAGISTRATE’S COURT
SNEAK THIEVES STRIP A CLOTHESLINE.
Gine Angelina and Mary Patterson were jointly charged in tho Magistrate s Court on Saturday before Mr. W. n. Bundle, S.M., with dealing a quantity of underclothing Thom a clothes-line at Lyall Bay, the value of the clothing being £lO. As neither hnd been before the Court previously, Angelina was fined £2, and placed on probation for a year, anil Patterson was convicted and placed on probation for one year also. A remand until to-day was granted in the case of Robert M. Mclntyre who Was charged with stealing ihree shirts, value 31s. 6d.. the property of the Union Clothing Company, also with stealing a pair of shoes, virtue 255„ the property of RHannah and Co. Bfiil was allowed in two sureties of £25 each. xfaeis A young girl, whose name th c Magi«trate ordered should not be published, was remanded until November 25 on a charge of steaFmg 20s. sd. Bail was altwo sureties of £25 each. For drunkenness, Frank Mannon was fined 10s., with th? option of forty-eight hours’ imprisonment. William Edie was fined 405., with the alternative of seven daysf imprisonment, for obstructing a constable while in the execution of his; duty. Ho was fined a further ss. for drunkenness.
