Tho Britten Bill, recently before (he American Congress, would make it unlia.wful, after ten years, to sell, charge, or collect on other than a metric basis. Manufacturers opposed this propaganda so strongly (hat they secured their exemption under the present Bill, but i(s passage would doubtless lie the opening wedge for a general adoption of metric tveights and measures.
