OVERLOOKING THE ANCRE VALLEY

(Rec. November 21, 0.5 a.m.) Paris, November 20.

Field-Marshal Wilson was present yesterday at the dedication by the Archbishop of Dublin of the Ulster memorial tower, which is 70 feet high, and overlooks the Ancre Valley and the ground on which the division fought in its first offensive in 1916. General Weygnnd, the French Chief of Staff, unveiled the tower. A special chamber ceremony attracted a great crowd of French. Many Irish and English were present, including Lady Craig, whose husband and Lord Carson were detained in England through illness. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
