PAST YEAR’S OPERATIONS. London, November 10. i The Pacific Cable Board's annual report shows the year’s receipts at of which J 2620.051 was from traffic. After placing .£245,000 to the reserve and renewal fund, .£50,000 to the superannuation fund, the balance of profit is £90,172, of which 2677,543 has been paid to the National Debt Commissioners and £9150 to the renewal and reserve fund for interest and sinking fund on the sum borrowed therefrom for the Auck-land-Sydney cable, leaving a surplus of £3477.
The year’s international traffic was 7,874,936 paying words, of which 1.019,218 were Government words, compared with 2,219,940 words in th* previous year. Pless work totalled 1,143,859 words, compared with 816.576 words in the previous year.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
