THEFT OF EXPLOSIVES
WIDESPREAD CONSPIRACY REVELATIONS IN ENGLISH TRIAL By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright (Rec. November 11, 7.40 p.m.) London, November 11.' A. widespread conspiracy to steal explosive* has been revealed at Newcastle, where. three men' and ii. woman were charged with' conspiring with Joseph Ccnnelly, the notorious paid organiser of the Irish Self-Determination League, .who is. awaiting trial at Cardiff on a similar charge. Documentary evidence was produced relating to explosives, Morris tube ammunition, detonators, anti machine-guns, many of which were removed from one prisoner’s house and seized while in transit in a motor-car. Tho woman was acquitted. Her husband, Arnold Margett, was sentenced to imprisonment for one year. The other men, Purcell and Barrington, were each sentenced to three years’ imprisonment. —Aus.-N.Z, Cable Assn.
