A. widespread conspiracy to steal explosive* has been revealed at Newcastle, where. three men' and ii. woman were charged with' conspiring with Joseph Ccnnelly, the notorious paid organiser of the Irish Self-Determination League, .who is. awaiting trial at Cardiff on a similar charge. Documentary evidence was produced relating to explosives, Morris tube ammunition, detonators, anti machine-guns, many of which were removed from one prisoner’s house and seized while in transit in a motor-car. Tho woman was acquitted. Her husband, Arnold Margett, was sentenced to imprisonment for one year.
