BOWLS
PUBLIC SERVICE TOURNEY. The annual tournament of the bowlers in the Public Service has been fixed, for Wednesday, November 30 (St. Andrew's; Day), and it is expected that a record number of entries will he received. The tournament will be held on the Wellington and Thorndon greens, and the necessary arrangements are now being made to ensure a successful gathering. At ■ the meeting of delegates Colonel Collins, C.M.G., 1.5.0., was elected president and Mr. W. R. Jourdain was appointed lion, secretary, in both cases for the sixth year in succession. Johnsonville teams for to-morrow are: Pennants v. Seatoun: Home—Embury, Turner, V. A. Mills, Sloane (s.). Away —Ford, Jacobs, Christie, Orr (s.). Junior Pennants v. Seatoun, at Kelburn—F. Skinner, Owler, Johnson, Neal (s.). Newtown teams for Saturday are:— Newtown v. Island Bay.—Away: Castle, Carmen, Bethune, Grenside (s.) 1 Luke, Hooper, Thompson, Davis (s.). Home: McKenzie, S'tocker, Crosby. Warwick (s.); Cole, White, W. Read, Phillips («-). Newtown v. Upper Hutt.—At. Newtown only: S. L. Roberts, Bennett, Porter. Swiney (s.). Junior Pennants—Newtown v. Kliundallah, at Victoria: Bland, Leigh, Scott, Trevor (s.).
