Tile big event of the year in connection with tho many activities of the British and Foreign Sailors’ Society is the treat provided for the sailors in port at Christmas time. In past years the social committee has been encouraged by the sympathy shown by the public and friends and has again decided to go on and improve on last year’s standard. The silver band of the Central Mission has consented to provide a concert, and tho Town Holl Concert ChamI her has been engaged for December 1. An attractive programme is .promised. The proceeds of this concert will be entirely devoted to the sailors’ Christmas treat fund.
