FIRE ON STEAMER
HOLD FLOODED TO EXTINGUISH FLAMES.
By Telegraph —Press Association. Auckland, November 9. An outbreak of fire occurred in No. 3 hold on tho City of Chester on November 1 during the voyage from New York to Auckland. The hold was flooded, but not till last Friday evening was the fire extinguished. There was petrol and other cargo in the adjoining hold, but fortunately tho lire did not extend. The vessel was not damaged.
