WELLINGTON CHORAL UNION
THE TITLE “ROYAL" GRANTED. A communication from the Minister of Internal Affairs has been received by. Mr. AV. E. Caldow, honorary secretary o? the Wellington Choral Union, intimating that His Maesty the King has been graciously pleased to grant to tho union the privilege of using tho prefix “Royal" in their title. Henceforth, therefore, [tho [soctety will be known as “Tho Royal Wellington Choral Union." TTi'e 'honour tttus conferred will l>e particularly gratifying,, not only to the members of the union, but also to the musical public of Wellington. As showing the standard of performance reached by the union, overseas artists have frequently declared fhat both in numbers and quality this body compares more tfftm 'favourably with nny similar organisation throughout Australasia.
