An old Roman road that ran from London to Manchester has been discovered in England by workmen who were digging • manholes near Farnham. Tho road was in excellent preservation, the surface layer being composed of flints a foot in thickness, necessitating the use of drills to penetrate it. -Engineers eay the road was capable of carrying heavier traffic than any mottorn road.
