EXPLOSION IN A FORTRESS
ALLEGED TERRORIST PLOT. 7 (Rec. October 28, 7.25 p.m.) Rome, October 27. Twenty-two people were killed and 300 injured through an explosion in a powder magazine in St Eleva fortress, near Savona. The fortress was demolished and the surrounding country devastated. Many buildings were destroyed, including a church and a town hall. The newspaper “Messagero” alleges that the explosion was due to a terrorist plot.— Reuter.
