BRITISH NAVAL BASES
POl/ICY OF EXTENSION AND MODERNISING. London, October 27. Mr. Lloyd' George, replying in the House of Commons, said that prior to the Imperial Conference the Admiralty had decided, for the better security of the outlying possessions, that certain bases abroad, including the Pacific, needed modernising, and in some cases extending. The Imperial Conference agreed. It was not intended to ask the House for additional money this year in consequence of this policy.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
