LABOUR DAY SPORTS TO-DAY
The Labour Day sports, which were postponed on Monday owing to the wet weather, are to be held at Newtown Dark to-day. An excellent programme has been drawn up, and the committee in charge of tho arrangements promise that there will be ample amusement to satisfy everybody. One of the chief events will be an Association football match between two local ladies’ teams for the Nellie Shield. The programme will also include five field events, to be run under the auspices of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic, Association, and spine well known local athletes will be seen in action. Other attractions will be a baby show and dancing competitions. In the evening ia “social” will be held in • the Alexandra Hall.
