stock, and barrel, iho commercial rights of tho Chartered Company, the continuance of which under responsible government would bo a very serious handicap upon self-governing institutions. Other minor questions would be thrashed out in the proposed convention, ’ind it is now exceedingly probable that even the advocates of responsible government will be inclined to accept the proposal for a convention, and that tho movement for self-governing institutions will girdually disappear.
