BOWLS

TE HIWI CLUB. The annual meeting of the Te Hiwi Bowling Club was held last we.ek, Air. E. J. Hill presiding over a large attendance of members. The annual report and balance-sheet disclosed a satisfactory position. The president remarked that the club’s main object was to maintain good fellowship amongst bowlers, and it was rewarded for its efforts in this direction by the many compliments paid by visitors, who always found a warm welcome at Te Hiwi. Mr. Hill said that the balance-sheet, which showed a handsome surplus and no liabilities, was a striking testimonial to the club’s secretary and treasurer, Air. C. A. Innes, who had been untiring in his efforts for the welfare of tho club. Members endorsed this by unanimously re-electing Air. Innes to the position. A vxi'Je mf thanks was aldo paryed to Aliss M. B. Hill, of "Te Hiwi," for the great interest she has maintained in the club, and her solicitude for the comfort of members. Officers for the ensuing year were elected as follow:—President, Mr. E. .1. Hill; vice-president, Mr. H. G. Smith; secretary and treasurer, Air. C. Innes; auditor, Air. J. B. Brinsden; committee, Messrs. A. Warwick, V. Dimock, A. Duncan, and It. Ilouldsworth. Several new members were elected. The green will be opened for play towards the end of November.
